| What is the PTO? |
| |
The PTO is the Parent Teacher Organization. We are parents and teachers just like you who volunteer our time to enhance the educational experience of every child in our school. We are an independent organization and do not belong to any State or National affiliation, or support any political platforms. We keep all of the funds that we raise for out school rather than sending money for state and/or national dues/fees. |
| Am I committing to serve as a volunteer by joining the PTO? |
| |
Absolutely not! By joining the PTO you are simply showing support for your child and your child’s school. |
| Why is there a membership fee to join the PTO? |
| |
The PTO charges a membership fee to raise funds to help cover the cost of supplies and to fund the many programs and projects that we sponsor throughout the school year. |
| What exactly does the PTO do with the money that they raise? |
| |
The PTO uses every dollar of the money raised right here in your child’s school for projects like the playground, the outdoor classroom, video on demand, Red Ribbon Week (drug awareness program), Read Across America (Dr. Seuss Assembly), Honor Roll and Principle’s List parties, Accelerated Reader Program, Art Smart, book purchases for the school library, Physical Education equipment (portable basketball goals and balls) and many, many more worthwhile projects. |
| What special skills or training do I need to be a PTO volunteer? |
| |
If you have a desire to be involved in your child’s school then you are more than qualified to be a PTO volunteer. |
| Can I volunteer if I am a working parent? |
| |
Absolutely! We need all kinds of volunteers including stay at home parents and working parents. There are many opportunities to volunteer during school hours, during evening hours and on the weekend. If you wish to volunteer, please fill out the form below, return it to your child’s teacher and someone will contact you about an opportunity that fits your schedule. |
